CCCI’s monthly meeting on 28th August 2026
We also had the pleasure of introducing Martin Flubber D’Souza who inaugurated his autobiography “The Boy Who Laughed Too Much” . Making people laugh is the most difficult job in the world but one person does it with aplomb. He truly needed no introduction. What happens when a little boy who was once told, in effect, that he laughed too much, grows up and decides to make the world laugh? What happens when something that began almost by accident becomes a profession… then a passion… then a business… and eventually a purpose?
Tonight, we were here not simply to meet a clown. We were there to meet an entrepreneur, an entertainer, a creator and a man who built an extraordinary life around something that many people would never have considered a serious profession.
Martin D’Souza—better known to generations of families as Flubber—has travelled the world, performed on stages across continents, created opportunities for other performers and built the International Clown Festival in India. But behind the makeup is a much bigger story.
A story about taking chances.
About failure.
About finding your calling.
About staying relevant.
About building something when nobody has given you a roadmap.
And about having the courage to remain true to the thing that makes you different.
His autobiography is titled The Boy Who Laughed Too Much.
And perhaps the most interesting question is not why he laughed so much… but how that laughter eventually became his life’s work.
