2nd Inter parish Badminton tournament by the CCCI/Bombay Catholic Sabha/The Salsette Catholic CHS Ltd, on 12th and 13th July 2025





The 2nd interparish badminton tournament organized by the CCCI in conjunction with the Bombay catholic Sabha and the Salsette society was successfully conducted from 12th to 13th July 2025. There were 16 teams participating in the same.
- The winner was Immaculate Conception, Borivali for the second year in succession
- The 1st Runner Up was St Joseph’s Mira Rd.
- The 2nd Runner Up were St Peter Andrew’s & St Theresa’s parishes.
- The best lady’s player was – Karen and the best gent’s player was Ethan. Both players were from IC Borivali.
The closing ceremony and the awards, along with cash prizes were given out on the of 13th July 2025 by the chief guest Fr. Nigel Barett, parish priest of St. Andrews, Mr. Henry Lobo, Adv Pius Vas, Adv Raphael D’Souza, Mr. Norbert Mendonca and Mr. Vinod Noronha of the Bombay Catholic Sabha, Mr. Clevio Monteiro, CEO of Sun Raj travels, Ms. Sheryl Fonseca and Jelton Nunes. The tournament was well organized with close to 100 matches held over 2 days.
The sponsors of the tournament were Citizen bank, Model coop bank, Mr. Clevio Monteiro of Sun Raj travels sponsored the team’s jerseys and Ms. Sheryl Fonseca and Jelton Nunes sponsored the trophies. The venue was made possible through the efforts of Mr. Cornel K. Gonsalves secretary and Ms. Blossom Coutinho, the Chairperson of the Salsette Catholic Cooperative Housing Society.
The tournament was organized, managed and well-coordinated by Ms. Sybil Miranda [past winner of the CCCI excellence award for sports] who created the schedules, the pools, wherein the teams were divided, coordinated with the teams along with the support and assistance of Mr. Bernard Benevides, the convener of the CCCI.
The response was quite overwhelming with the teams praising the organization of the same, the hospitality as well as the jerseys that were created for the occasion. The referees and the scorers were professionals from the badminton Association.
