Travel as Therapy? Is travel therapeutic in nature? Does it calm & relax the mind? There is hardly any doubt that most holiday travellers return feeling invigorated, eager to re-start & energised.
Work & social as well as family pressures often make us feel suffocated, tired & listless. While daily exercise, eating moderately & sleeping well ensures we can face the rigors of daily life; short holidays, vacations & long breaks often gives much needed rest as well as ensures - we see life from a broader perspective.
Benefits of travel range from attaining better body fitness due to physical activity, interacting with different cultures & learning a new view point & increasing knowledge, appreciating all we have in our own life's & finally creating confidence to take on new challenges in life.
Even the cave man travelled, though it was to fulfil his/her basic needs. Thanks to conveniences & great bouts of sedentism we enjoy in our lives today, taking a break or stepping out will provide unknown advantages which were previously unknown to us.
I travelled & continue to wander to this day. I lived in many places & interacted with different cultures. What I am is because of my humble attempts at exploring & trying to understand the world & its offerings. In all humility I also realised my 'smallness' in comparison to all the Wonders of Nature & the Universe.
Travel helps me remain agile, enthusiastic & full of vigour. It also provides me with new information. This helps me create, write & finally document a new story. This brings me immense joy & satisfaction!!
Travel brought me invaluable benefits, am sure it will have a 'healing touch' for many of us!!!
- Enjoy Your Day!!
