HISTORY OF THE CCCI
Mr Vincent Mathias, an enterprising Christian businessman first visualized and put forth the idea of forming a body like the Christian Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Mr John D’Silva, Mr Henry Lobo, Mr Gilbert Pinto,Mr Albert D’Souza, Mr John Mathew and Mr Lawrence Coelho assisted him in its formation.
The CCCI was created & registered under section 25 of the Companies act 1956 on 27th March, 1998. It’s memorandum of articles of associations provides it with guidance. It now has 702 members, with a full time secretariat at Solaris Building, Saki Vihar Road, Powai, Mumbai – 400 072.
His Lordship Bishop Percival Fernandez blessed the office and Mr Joseph Menezes inaugurated it on the 25th of September, 2005. The proud possession of the CCCI office was made possible through the generosity of the Christian businessmen whose names appear prominently on the marble plaque in the office.
